Gorillas
   
Gorillas are big primates. People are primates too. Gorillas are very powerful. But they are also gentle and shy. Gorillas live in groups called bands.
Gorillas have brown and black hair. It covers most of their bodies. Gorillas have long arms. Their legs are shorter than their arms. They use all four limbs to walk.

Gorillas live in parts of Africa. Some gorillas live in rain forests. Some gorillas live in mountains.
Gorillas eat flowers and fruits. They also eat leaves and other plant parts. Some eat bugs. They only rarely eat small animals.
Each band has approximately seven gorillas. The oldest and largest male gorilla leads the band. He is called a silverback. This is because he has silver hair on his back. Gorillas can live up to 40 years in the wild.
