Sugar Gliders
   
Sugar gliders are marsupials. They are named for their love of sweet foods. They are also known for flying from tree to tree. Sugar gliders have become popular pets.
Sugar gliders have large eyes and pink noses. Their ears are hairless. A sugar glider’s fur is mostly gray. But sugar gliders have a black stripe on their backs and white bellies.

Sugar gliders can be found in Australia. They live in forests. They glide from tree to tree looking for sap to eat. Sugar gliders build nests in trees.
Along with sap, sugar gliders eat other plants. Sometimes they eat insects. They might also eat small animals such as mice, lizards, or birds.
Female sugar gliders are pregnant for approximately 16 days. Babies are called joeys. Sugar gliders live approximately five years in the wild.
