Sheep
   
Sheep can be found on farms all over the world. People have been keeping sheep for 6,000 years. China and Australia have the most sheep farms. There are more than 800 different kinds of sheep.
Most sheep are white or brown. Some are black. Others have spots or markings. Sheep have thick hair called wool. It keeps them warm and dry. Some sheep grow horns.

Sheep eat grass and hay. They also eat grain. They spend their days grazing in the farm fields.

Sheep’s wool is used to make clothes. Their hair can be turned into sweaters or hats. Other sheep are raised for meat. Sheep’s milk is used to make cheese.
