Dingoes

Dingoes are wild dogs. They likely came from Asia to Australia more than 3,000 years ago. Dingoes have bushy tails. Their ears are large and pointed.
Dingoes have short, soft fur. Their fur is usually gold or reddish brown. They often have white on their tail tips, paws, and bellies. Dingoes have sharp teeth. Their muzzles are long.

Dingoes live in forests and deserts. They sometimes live near people. They can travel more than six miles (10 km) each day. Some dingoes live alone. Others live in small packs.
Dingoes eat meat. They mostly eat rodents. They also eat birds and reptiles. A dingo will hunt small animals alone. When dingoes hunt large animals, they work together.
Dingo pups are born in dens. The dens are made from caves, hollow logs, or rabbit holes. Pups stay in these dens until they are three weeks old. Dingoes live for up to 10 years in the wild.
