Eagles

There are approximately 60 species of eagles. There are four main eagle groups. Fish eagles and snake eagles are groups. So are harpy eagles and booted eagles.
Eagles come in all different sizes. All eagles have talons. Booted eagles have feathers growing down their legs to their feet.

Eagles can be found all around the world. Some eagles always stay in the same area. Other eagles migrate from one place to another.
Eagles eat other animals. They catch and kill prey with their feet and talons. Snakes and lizards are common prey. But eagles sometimes eat bigger animals such as rabbits and small deer.
An eagle’s nest is called an eyrie. Females lay two eggs at a time. Baby eagles are called eaglets. Eagles can live for more than 20 years.
