Howler Monkeys
   
Howler monkeys live in groups called troops. Each troop has a home area. The monkeys eat together and groom each other. They sleep on branches near their other troop members.
Howler monkeys have long, thick fur. The fur is often black, brown, reddish, or tan. Howler monkeys have sturdy arms and legs. They can grip branches with their tails.

Howler monkeys live in South America and Central America. They live in rain forest habitats. Howler monkeys live in the treetops.
Howler monkeys find food in their treetop homes. They mostly eat leaves. They also eat flowers, nuts, and fruits. They especially like figs.
Howler monkeys usually have one baby at a time. Mothers carry babies on their backs. Babies leave their mothers after approximately one year. In the wild, howler monkeys live for 15 to 20 years.
