legs

them

fast.
They
run

escape

predators.
Jackrabbits
live
in
North
America.
Some
live
in
deserts.
Others
live
in
grasslands.
They
often
rest
under
bushes.
This
helps
keep
them
cool.
Sometimes
they
dig
shallow
holes
to
sit
in.
Jackrabbits
eat
plants.
They
mostly
eat
grasses
and
shrubs.
They
also
eat
bark.
Sometimes
they
even
eat
cacti.
Most
do
not
drink
water.
Instead,
they
get
water
from
their
food.
Female
jackrabbits
have
several
litters
each
year.
Most
leverets
live
on
their
own
after
just
a
few
days.
Jackrabbits
can
live
for
five
years
in
the
wild.
However,
many
are
eaten
by
predators.
