Komodo Dragons
   
Komodo dragons are dangerous reptiles. Their mouths are filled with deadly bacteria. If a Komodo dragon cannot kill its prey on the first try, the bite wound will soon poison the prey.
Komodo dragons have thick bodies. They have short, strong legs. Komodo dragons have strong tails and sharp claws. All reptiles have scales and are cold-blooded.

Komodo dragons live on small islands. The islands are part of Indonesia. Komodo dragons are very good swimmers. They can swim between islands.
Komodo dragons eat meat. They usually eat small mammals. A Komodo dragon will hide and wait for prey. It lunges at its prey. It bites and claws its prey.
A female Komodo dragon lays her eggs in a hole. She guards her eggs until they hatch. Baby Komodo dragons live on their own. They climb into trees for safety. Komodo dragons can live over 30 years in the wild.
