Polar Bears
   
Polar bears live in the Arctic. They are known for their thick white fur. Their special fur keeps them warm in icy waters.
A polar bear has a large body and legs. It has a black nose. Polar bears have large paws. Their claws are sharp.

Polar bears live near frozen coasts. They walk on sea ice. They swim in the chilly waters. Sometimes polar bears dig dens. A den protects them from freezing weather.
Polar bears are skilled predators. They eat meat. They mostly eat seals. When seals are hard to find, polar bears will eat almost any food.
Female polar bears have babies in a den. It is common for polar bears to have twin cubs. Cubs leave their mothers after two years. Polar bears can live for 15 to 30 years in the wild.
