Puffins

There are three types of puffins. They are the Atlantic, horned, and tufted puffins. Puffins live in the Arctic. Their bodies are built to survive the cold.
Puffins are covered in feathers. Their feathers are black and white. The feathers are thick to help puffins stay warm. Puffins have webbed feet. Their beaks are large and triangle-shaped.

Puffins live on water and land. They can swim, walk, and fly. In the spring and summer they live on the coasts. The rest of the time they live at sea.
Puffins are carnivores. They mostly eat small fish. They also eat crabs, squid, and sea urchins. Puffins dive into the water to catch their food.
Female puffins lay one egg at a time. They dig a burrow near the ocean. Parents feed their chicks as they grow. Wild puffins can live for more than 20 years.
