see
raccoons
during

day.
That
is
because
they
are
nocturnal.
Raccoons
usually
have
brown,
blond,
or
silver
fur.
They
have
dark
fur
around
their
eyes.
Raccoons
have
thick
bodies
and
bushy
tails.
Their
toes
have
claws.
Raccoons
came
from
North
America.
Now
they
live
in
South
America
and
Europe
too.
Many
raccoons
live
in
forests.
Some
live
on
tropical
islands
in
the
Caribbean
Sea.
Raccoons
can
also
be
found
in
urban
areas.
Raccoons
eat
many
things.
They
eat
grains
or
seeds.
They
eat
lots
of
fruit
and
vegetables
too.
If
they
are
near
water,
they
eat
fish
and
other
small
animals.
Raccoons
also
eat
people’s
garbage.
Female
raccoons
have
approximately
four
babies
at
a
time.
Babies
are
born
with
their
eyes
closed.
Most
raccoons
live
only
two
years.
If
they
live
longer,
they
can
live
for
almost
16
years.
