Tuna
   
Tuna are fast fish. They have silver bodies. There are seven different species of tuna. Most tuna swim in schools. There might be more than one species in a school.
Tuna have forked or curved tails. The tails help them swim. Most tuna have dark backs and light undersides. Tuna species vary greatly in size. The Bluefin tuna is the biggest.

Tuna typically live in temperate and tropical oceans. Some live in cooler water. Tuna can only live in salt water.
Tuna eat small fish. They eat squid and eels. They also eat crustaceans. Some tuna eat smaller tuna.
A female tuna lays eggs. She can lay several million eggs at a time. The eggs hatch into tuna larvae. The larvae swim near the surface until they grow. Bluefin tuna can live for up to 30 years.
